but it has no estimate on what day that might be. >>> we're going to turn now to ktvu chief meteorologist bill martin who's been monitoring all of these storms and which places are getting reallily soaked. >> it came down for some time. it was steady and sometime in the afternoon it really started to hammer. take a look at the last few hours and you can see that over the last few hours those oranges and reads down in the santa clara valley that's when it was really coming down. you can see by the oakland area, by skyline boulevard you have some light showers there. some showers down around san leandro we head out toward beach front boulevard near belmont. you see showers there. how about roson avenue getting heavy activity. at least toward campbell. but as we worked our way toward evergreen and san felipe road you see significant rainfall on these bands. you touch on here an we show you rainfall bands at .2 an hour. that's significant rain and you head down toward the corridor and gilroy. they were getting hammered for a time today this evening and now they're getting a little bit of a br
that is surprisingly soldiering on despite the weather. reporting live in palo alto, john fowler, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> in the main system is going through right now we've had light steady rain all day. accumulations have been light until now. now we're starting to see the system moving in. you can see the yellows firing up. we have a couple live frames right there. yellows and reds. it's hitting pretty hard right now. this is the strongest dynamics in this storm. so out toward hayward, out toward san mateo you have significant rain. castro valley is raining hard, it's raining hard over by historia road. as we head south a little bit. out toward fremont and mission creek we're seeing heavy rain. it's going to be a brief bout of heavy rain but it's coming down hard in these areas, san jose downtown right here. if you're out and about or your going out to dinner you have heavy rain in evergreen, by ellen rock and willie glen. we'll switch out here to where fowler was in palo alto, mountain view and the drizzle is on. we've seen .1 to .3 of an inch to a half inch. but they could get some accumulation

bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> good morning. i'm brian flores. >> good morning. i'm claudine wong. we are back on storm watch this back here in the bay area there. have been several big downpours in the past few hours and mark joining us now to tell us what is happening now and what we can expect later today > >> the heaviest rain on live storm tracker 2. there is the live sweep showing you the current rainfall pattern and scatter around parts of the north bay. we will continue to show you this. just out toward san leandro. approaching san ramone, a few scattered rain showers, not to major for this part of the bay area. we will move the maps down closer to santa cruz, increasing rain closer to santa cruz and the south bay. you will seat yellows and reds flaring up. leafier rain, sunnyvale. all the areas, the yellows indicate the increase in the rainfall rates, also shifting the maps here, close in on fremont around stevenson boulevard and cherry street. especially the darker shades of green. they link up with heavier rain. with the down
